10 Reasons We’re Excited for PDOP Pumpkin Days in Pahrump

Have you heard? The 15th Annual PDOP Pumpkin Days in Pahrump will be taking place from October 24th – 27th, 2024, at Ian Deutch Memorial Park.

Grab your costumes and camera!

This is going to be a Pumpkin Patch you’re not going to want to miss.

What is the PDOP?

PDOP stands for the Pahrump Disability Outreach Program.

They are a multifaceted support group that provides support to the parents, siblings and other family members of children with any disability.

Their story began back in 2009.

Two parents quickly realized that there was no local support for them after their children had been diagnosed with a disability.

They knew something needed to change and founded the PDOP with the goal of providing families within our community a place to go for support, information, education, training, and friendship.

Families would no longer have to go all the way to Las Vegas to access these resources.

The founders of PDOP vowed that they would make a difference not only for their own family but for all the other families that have children with a disability living in Pahrump.

“Reaching for the Stars and Settling for Nothing Less.”

#1 Reason: What They Do for Our Community

Our number one reason for being excited about the PDOP Pumpkin Days is because of how much of a positive impact this organization has on our entire community.

Here are just a few of the awesome things that the PDOP is doing in our community:

Medical Care

The PDOP assists as needed for medical care for special needs children within our community.

Educational Advocate

Many parents can get lost when it comes to the special education and IEP process. The PDOP strives to make the process less stressful and confusing by providing a special needs advocate to guide them as they seek services for their child.

Community Outreach

Monthly social activities are provided for special needs children and their families in order for them to come and interact with peers with similar limitations. Families can participate and enjoy the benefits of these social activities without the stress!

Volunteers

All of the staff at PDOP are volunteers and truly believe in the cause that they dedicate countless hours to!
